Erasmus+ Mobility – Nikolina Bek, Tea Komljenović and Matej Šag

Members of the Department of Water Ecology — Tea Komljenović, Matej Šag, and Nikolina Bek — participated in a professional training mobility from 20 February to 1 March 2026 at the “St. Kliment Ohridski” University of Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia, as part of the Erasmus+ programme.

The aim of the mobility was to enhance practical knowledge and skills in freshwater ecosystem analysis and to strengthen professional competences through the exchange of experience with researchers from the same scientific field. Special emphasis was placed on establishing a foundation for future international collaboration. The host of the mobility was Prof. Dijana Blažeković–Dimovska from the Faculty of Biotechnical Sciences.

As part of the mobility programme, the team visited the Hydrobiological Institute in Ohrid, where they participated in a meeting dedicated to exchanging experiences on ongoing research projects, the application of new technologies in freshwater ecosystem monitoring, and exploring opportunities for developing joint research initiatives. The meeting was organised by Prof. Stojmir Stojanovski.

In addition, the mobility included a tour of the laboratories of the Faculty of Biotechnical Sciences, Pelister National Park, Lake Prespa, the ancient Roman city of Heraclea Lyncestis, the Matka Canyon, and the capital city of North Macedonia — Skopje.
