As part of the Erasmus+ programme, Professor Davorka Hackenberger Kutuzović spent the period from 13 to 21 July 2026 at the Complutense University of Madrid, Faculty of Biological Sciences, in the Laboratory of Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution, where she collaborated with the research group led by Dr Daniel Fernández Marchán.

During the mobility, she undertook research training in the field of molecular identification of earthworm species. The activities included laboratory processing of samples, exchange of knowledge and experience with researchers from the host institution, and planning of future joint scientific publications and new collaborative research activities.

The mobility was carried out within the framework of the international research project BIGWORM (Evolución, mecanismos moleculares e importancia ecológica de las lombrices de tierra gigantes europeas), in which Professor Hackenberger Kutuzović participates as an external collaborator. The knowledge and collaboration established during the visit will also contribute to the implementation of the EKORES – Ecological Restoration and Resilience of Agricultural and Forest Habitats project, funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU instrument.
