Erasmus+ Mobility of Student Matea Paulić in Portugal

11

As part of my Erasmus+ traineeship, I spent two months (March–April 2026) at the University of Algarve (Universidade do Algarve) in Portugal, where I participated in research work in the field of plant physiology and biotechnology. During the traineeship, I worked with in vitro cultures of the endemic plant species Tuberaria globulariifolia and Lavandula viridis and investigated their responses to various abiotic stress conditions.

The mobility period enabled me to acquire new practical knowledge and laboratory skills, as well as gain experience working in an international research environment. In addition to professional development, my stay in Portugal contributed to my personal growth, increased independence, and the opportunity to meet new people, experience different cultures, and discover new ways of life. In my free time, I had the opportunity to explore Faro, the Algarve region, and visit the Ria Formosa Natural Park, which further enriched my mobility experience. Overall, the Erasmus+ experience exceeded my expectations and further motivated me to pursue similar opportunities in the future.
